During the game, you will have to overcome classic obstacles that arise when working with a customer: unclear wordings, irrepressible desire to overblow the scope of the project, constantly changing wishes, lack of interest in the success of the project, etc. And all this on the background of a rapidly approaching deadline, after all the game time is limited!
You will have to face a completely unfamiliar subject area, quickly understand it and propose to the customer a balanced, technically correct solution. And at the same time build constructive relationship with several stakeholders from the customer’s side. You will have to use your communicative skills, experience in requirements management, in their description and approval, and many other internal resources. Some things will be easier for you, sometimes failures may occur. But in a game environment, failures are not as painful as in a real project. On the other hand, you gain a real experience that will allow you to become an even more effective business analyst.
And one more valuable addition - feedback on the results of the game from colleagues, customer and trainer. This is an opportunity to find out the flow of thoughts and motivation of the customer, to understand what your interlocutor really thinks and feels during communication. This is an opportunity to learn your strong sides and define areas for improvement.
